Excellent Features of Dell Photo 926 All-in-One Printer
It is such a versatile printer with integrated media card slots and USB port. It has an e-fax capability, also it generates a scannable photo index.
The Dell Photo 926 is an all-in-one printer that comes with the capabilities that makes it print, scan, and copy. While fax isn't a listed task, you do e-faxes with the help of the attuned Dell Fax Solutions Software. When copying, your alternatives are quite simple: you can generate up to 99 copies in one go and scale between 25 and 400 percent. While scanning a picture or document, you can save the scan as a file on your computer, scan to e-mail or fax, or scan the document into some programs like Word, Excel, or any of the software in the package, comprising Corel Paint Shop Pro.
It allows you to select from a range of file types, comprising JPEG, PDF, and TIFF, if you save the scan as a file. You can even scan a document across a network if you have networked it using Dell's elective wireless network adapter. However, the Dell Photo 926 sports a USB port for flash storage drives, you can't save a scan to such a tool. Both of the Canon Pixma models discussed above have a front-mounted USB port for printing from PictBridge cameras, nevertheless, you can't use USB flash drives with each of them.
When you connect a flash drive into the USB port, the control panel automatically switches into photo mode. Here, you can apply advanced attributes like red-eye removal or auto-enhance, but don't forget that you can't preview photos on the control panel's basic, two-line LCD. Nor can you choose individual pictures to print using the control panel. The Photo 926 does have a photo index sheet alternative, although, it lets you print a scannable index sheet, which comprises all photos, just the last 25, or those taken in a specific date range. You can then make use of the index sheet to print just those pictures that you select. If you don't want to print at all, you can basically transfer pictures from the flash drive to your PC.
Printing pictures from a memory card works in the same technique. The printer also gives you the option to print Microsoft Office files straight from a memory card or thumbdrive: just use the menu navigation buttons to back out of Photo mode to select the Office File mode. If you have a PictBridge camera, you can print straight off the camera with the help of the same USB port.
Faxing with the Photo 926 requires that the attached PC be turned on, as the printer itself be short of a fax machine. Mainly, you are using the printer to scan the file to your computer, which then bring out the fax. All fax tasks are done through the Dell Fax Solutions software that comes along with the printer. The printer works on Dell series 9 ink cartridges which provides excellent quality prints.
On top of that, such above mentioned task can also be started through the Dell All-in-One Center on your computer. In fact, you get more elasticity as you can preview pictures and make extra edits or enhancements to them.
