New Technology for Glasses Wearers is Here

For the eye-glasses and sunglasses wearers, Rick Hopper sympathized with their ultimate struggle. Where do you put them when you aren’t wearing them?

Do you slip them into your collar, only to stretch the collar out eventually? Put them on your head and get them stuck in your hair? What about in your shirt pocket? You could, but then they fall out whenever you bend over, scratching the lenses. Don’t get him started on the horrors of putting them in pants pockets. It’s too risky to accidentally sit on the glasses and break them. Bag carriers offer some relief, but then you have to deal with putting them in a case or other glasses holder, reaching in, and taking them back out, wasting time.

Fortunately, Rick had had enough. He had an idea. What sort of eye glass holder would be easily reachable, protect the integrity of the frames and lenses, and keep them from falling off your person? It’s truly genius: Rick designed ReadeRest. And it worked! What started as a carefully bent paper clip, a couple magnets, and $65,000 in initial sales, each made by Rick’s own hand, became a nationwide sensation. Here’s how it works. The ReadeRest is a magnetic eyeglass holder. A thin, lightweight piece of metal is attached to your shirt and held in place by two equally lightweight, yet strong, magnets on the inside of the shirt. The eye glass holder is shaped in such a way that your glasses will safely stay attached. Whether you utilize it on your shirt or jacket, bag strap, or even your pants pocket, they won’t be falling out. As Rick dramatically demonstrated on Shark Tank, you can take a tumble and the glasses will still be held in place by the ReadeRest.

Speaking of Shark Tank, there was a demand for this product, but Rick found himself in need of extra hands to help him give his customers their new magnetic glasses holder. The Sharks were definitely interested, as it fit right in with the type of Shark Tank products they believe and invest in. After ultimately partnering with Lori Greiner, the ReadeRest was finally able to take off the way it deserved. Now available in multiple outlets, whether it is in person at Bed Bath and Beyond, online directly, or through the television from QVC, the ReadeRest has been flying off the shelves. It is extremely functional with more than just glasses, however. You can use the product the same way you would with a pen, especially without worry that it will draw all over the inside of your pocket!

How about a cord management tool? Head phones for important conversations or for your music need to stay in place. Notoriously known for how quickly they can tangle and frustrate the userFeature Articles, the ReadeRest will keep the cord in place and prevent further tangles to keep the buds in your ear.
