Self Empowerment by knowing the DO’S and DON’Ts of shaking hand

Never underestimate a simple gesture like a handshake can play a major role in theinfluence on how other people look at you and in creating a positive first impression which impact the subsequent meeting.

Basically,A Handshake does matters Articles everyone knows the most common sense advice which is to shake hands firmly, while looking into the person’s eye, but there are a lot more on the unrevealed. So I will share it here and let’s practice the dos and drop the don’ts.

1. Always maintain eye contactwhen shaking hand, do not look left and right as it indicates rudeness.

2. Ensure a firm handshake, which indicates confidence and interest but not too firm. Always control your pressure on the handshake, do not squeeze tight. (Save your strength for your gym, not in a handshake)

3. Do not use the infamous 2 hand shake

4. Your hand should be dry and warm, never offer a sweaty palm.

5. Do not try to get a better grip of the other person.

6. Do not grab the other party’s elbow while shaking hand

7. Always accompany a handshake with a smile (Don’t be stingy, a smile is free, so just give it to the other person)

8. Direction of the handshake should be up and down, not back and forth. This action will be more natural and comfortable for the other person.

9. Do not hold the hand for over 2 seconds.

10. Do not have a limp handshake.

11. When you are shaking hand, try to greet the person by saying sentences like “It is a pleasure to meet you” and etc.

Do not let this most natural thing in the world become the most difficult task, just keep practicing and bear in mind all the above mentioned tips.
