Let me start off with A Japanese proverb ... ''A tongue three inches long can kill a man six feet tall.''

Often time’s people just have a knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. They are being Hung By The Tongue!

To give you a better example here is a story…

A state trooper once pulled a man over for speeding on a deserted road. Since the road was clear and the weather fine,How You Can be Hung by Your Tongue! Articles the trooper had indicated that he may not give the man a ticket, and let them off with a warning. He even complemented both the man and his wife for wearing their seat belts. At that point the woman leaned over and said, "Well, officer, when you drive the speeds we do, you have to wear them." That's when the trooper wrote the ticket. “She was Hung By The Tongue!”

It is wiser to assess the situation by being taciturn. Take time to think before speaking in any given occasion, especially if it is a dire situation. Act logically instead of being emotional, there is a fine line between spontaneity and absurdity.

Gene and Carolyn were entertaining for the first time since the birth of their baby. Everything ran smoothly until one of Gene's buddies arrived with his new girlfriend--a woman whom Carolyn did not particularly care for. She beckoned her husband upstairs with the excuse that they had to check on the baby. In the privacy of the nursery, she spoke freely of her disdain for the new guest. When they went downstairs to rejoin the party, they were greeted with an awkward silence--except for the occasional murmuring of the sleeping baby that came from the infant monitor sitting on the table. She was “Hung By The Tongue!”

If you are continually being “hung by your tongue”, you can be “loosed from the noose” You are blurring the norms of social acceptance and thinning the rope that can inevitably haunt you.

The words from your mouth are a creative and defining force.  They play a big part in your predestined future. You are the architect of your life and your words are the resources. The tongue is like a tool. We need to utilize our tools correctly to build a future that we truly desire.

Which in turn correlates through this precedence, you see, your future will someday be your present.  Your present will someday be your past. You can plan your course effectively through a compass that is your tongue. It will be the rudder with which you can steer either in troubled seas or in ocean of tranquil serenity. Don’t be misled, it will definitely guide you.

If you can think before you speak you can change what you say instantly saving you the trouble of embarrassment and apology.

The words you speak create an ambience it could either be positive or negative. If you are going to have a meeting and you really pump it up and build it, what happens? People come with expectancy!

When you build up anticipation they will come excited. Your words have predetermined the stage for success! One of the foundational revelations of a powerful leader is to learn to control his or her words!  Just look at some common sayings we hear all the time.

I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.

You make me so mad.

You make me sick.

You are such a jerk.

I feel old.

I think I’m coming down with a cold.

If you keep driving like that you’ll kill somebody.

With my luck I’ll probably get a ticket.

Man, look at this weather.  What a lousy day.

I guess we’ll never get ahead.

Hello, If this is the language you speak … you are being “Hung The By Tongue.”  You are creating your own negative environment!

Instead cultivate a positive mentality and never succumb to such petty whining, be a man and face it head on. Keep in mind that people will respect a man who can accept his mistakes through criticisms than someone who cowardly flees or hide his ineptitude.

Remember, Samson slew 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of an ass.  Way too many businesses, lives, and relationships are destroyed with the same weapon...''

You need to be loose the stigma of a guillotine waiting to decapitate potential success and rewards with a mere uncalled for comment! Be adamant of what comes out of your mouth! Be determined to never be Hung on the tongue.
