If you're reading this right now,Personal Empowerment - Self-Reliance Is Power Articles you're at least interested in ways to become more empowered.  The good news is that you don't have to go any farther than yourself, because the form of empowerment most within your reach is personal empowerment.  You become more empowered when you gain more power, and the best way to start is to become more self-reliant.

Why self-reliance?  Because you get stronger and more able to do for yourself, which makes you less dependent on anyone or anything else.  Such dependency takes power away from you and gives it to that someone or something else.  Conversely, What you no longer need loses power over you, and therefore you gain it in the process.

So then, how do you gain self-reliance?  Here are a few things you can do:

- Gain knowledge:  The more you know, the less likely you'll run into something that completely stymies you.  Knowledge can be found in the obvious places:  On the Net, from other people, in libraries, or even taking courses at a college.

- Gain skills:  I'm listing this more as the knowledge, training, and experience to do as opposed to simply knowing something.  If you have a skill, you can leverage it to make some gain for yourself.  This gain is usually monetary but not always.  This gives you a bit more power over your own circumstances.

- Change your mindset:  The biggest impediment to empowerment may be in your attitudes or erroneous negative opinions of yourself.  There may even be some fear involved because you've never tried becoming more self-reliant before.  So, I'll clear up a few things you may be thinking here.  Yes, you are good enough to become more self-reliant.  Yes, it is possible.  Most of what you think is hard about it is all in your head.  And even if you aren't there now, it doesn't mean you never will be.

Gaining self-reliance is one of the best ways to start gaining personal empowerment.  You don't need anyone else to start, and the only thing you have to change is you.  The only questions is:  Will you?
