Affirmations are statements we tell ourselves on a regular basis. Some people regularly tell themselves “I look beautiful” . There are other people who tell themselves “I am fat and can’t lose weight” These are examples of positive and negative affirmations.

Affirmations are very powerful. They are like fire. Fire, if used properly, can be used to cook food. If you don’t take care, it can hurt you. The same thing applies for affirmations too. One can use affirmations to bring about a positive difference in life. At the same time, if wrong affirmations are used, once can fill ones life with negative things that can harm.

 Why does an affirmation (positive or negative) work? You are already aware that an affirmation is what you tell yourself on a regular basis. Be it positive or negative. When you tell yourself something over and again, your mind will slowly accept that to be true. Once your mind accepts something to be true, the immediate fallout is that it starts converting that affirmation into a belief.  For example, never ever make an affirmation like “I don’t like wasting time”. It doesn’t work. If you want to make sure you don’t waste time, the affirmation can be something like “I take care of time properly” or “I manage my time effectively” etc.

 Make sure the affirmations will give the results you desire. For example if you want to lose weight, you affirmation could be like “I love my body and take care of it every time” or “I love healthy food” etc. If you want to have a lot of money, then the affirmation can be “I am rich and wealthy” or something like “I am a money magnet”.
