Google Apps Premiere users are already reaping the benefits of Google's purchase of Postini,Google Apps Gets E-mail Security, Compliance Articles according to PCWorld.com. Though the per user/per year price will stay at $50, customers will have access to Postini security and compliance features - including enhanced message filters and a whitelist.

Postini functionality will also allow corporate users to block outgoing mail containing keywords or names, or even to block outgoing spreadsheets containing sensitive financial details. In addition, storage capacity for Premiere users will jump from 10 GB to 25 GB, the story says.

Gartner’s Tom Austin says the adjustments will better position Google to compete with Microsoft Office. Moreover, he expects further announcements regarding Google Apps in coming months. (PCWorld.com notes that the company added 37  “significant enhancements” to the platform between February and June this year.)

Though Google Apps Premiere users won’t have free access to Postini’s more complicated wares, they will have the option to add some of them for a fee.
