When Apple released the iPhone 4S back in October of 2011,Rumors About The Latest iPhone The iPhone 5 Articles fans were expecting a radically designed iOS-powered smartphone. However, what was unveiled was as phone that looked exactly like its predecessor with a number of upgrades. Although the smartphone was a big hit, Apple fans expected more. If you were one of those who were expecting something new, this might be the case with Apple's upcoming handset.

When it comes to screen size, a lot of Apple's enthusiasts were expecting a larger display on the 4S. However, it sported the same 3.5 inch retina display. According to previous reports, the next generation iOS smartphone would sport a 4 inch display. Now, reports are claiming that the new handset will sport either 4.2 inch or 4.3 inch display. This would make sense since the competition offers phones sporting larger touch screens. An example is the Samsung Galaxy S2 with its 4.2 inch Super AMOLED Plus display and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with its 4.65 inch AMOLED display. However, don't be surprised if the Cupertino firm unveils a new phone sporting the same 3.5 inch retina display or maybe something slightly bigger. Since apps for the smartphone are optimized for this screen size, it would make sense for the company to keep the same format. If ever they release a phone with a 4 inch display, developers would be facing a time-consuming task of redesigning their apps.

Other than a bigger retina display, the iPhone 5 is said to support HSPA+ technology. The previous model only supported HSDPA/HSUPA 3G connectivity that allowed users to download at 14.4 mbps. With HSPA+ support, this would mean that the new phone would allow users to download at speeds of up to 21 mbps. This is almost double the internet speed compared to the past model.

RAM plays a significant role when it comes to performance. The 4S sports a 1 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM. According to reports, the iPhone 5 will sport 1 GB of RAM. This is twice as much compared to the previous model. When it comes to the phone's processor, some say that it will sport a quad-core processor. Some believe that its processor will be a minor upgrade of the 4S' A5 chip. They came to this conclusion when the company released the new iPad. It came packed with the dual-core A5X chip under the hood. The iPad 2 comes packed with the dual-core A5 chip.

When it comes to a release date, reports suggest that the new phone will be released somewhere in between the 10th to the 15th of June during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. If the iPhone 5 is released by then, we'll finally get to see if these reports are true or not.
