Tulum Beach; Where the magic happens

This article was taken from my journal on Tulum Beaches which I wrote at a Tulum Hotel

It wasn’t long ago that I found myself on one of Tulum’s beaches, relaxing under the shade of a droopy palm tree. I had nestled myself up with a good book was debating the prospect of quitting life in the states all together and making this an everyday occurrence. Cold beers on the beach and lazy afternoons in the shade were things I could definitely get used to, but how?

Life in the states had started to take its toll on yours truly. The grind of waking up every morning at five to the sound of an alarm clock had worn its way into my soul and late nights at the office became, embarrassingly, part of my daily routine. It was the way of life in New York City; where salaries and intense exertion on ones body are indicators of status and success.

But it was this lovely afternoon in Tulum when all of that just seemed to be blown away by the same wind that was whispering through my hair. It was odd, I thought to myself, in such a simple and plain atmosphere, how such clarity had found its way to my thoughts.

I found myself on the exact same beach, under the exact same palm tree one year later. I had taken the jump I’d dreamt so long about; of leaving the machine I had grown up around for warmer and more relaxing days. My friends come down to visit regularly, and between the free rooms I tempt them with at my boutique hotel, to the immaculate beach here in Tulum, they’re often tempted with the same sorts of ideas.

My move to Mexico wasn’t terribly outrageous seeing as though I’ve met plenty of people who long ago did the same. But for me it was a monumental step in my life. And sitting here todayFree Articles, I’m all but frustrated I didn’t do it sooner.
