Designing a memorable logo helps in the instant identification of a brand,8 Tips to Create a Positive Impression on Customers with Your Business Logo Design Articles and therefore creates a positive impression in the minds of customers. There are designers who choose a premium theme but end up designing a bland looking font-based logo. Do you think such a logo creates the right impact? No way. A business logo design having a premium theme as well as relevant designs will create the right impact.

This article offers some tips on creating a professional looking logo design that creates a positive impression, making it memorable.

1.  Using .PNG Logos

I would suggest that you use .PNG formats for designing a logo. It is a myth that PNG logos look dull, rather they have a better polish and finishing.

If you are using a transparent background, and storing the logo in a .JPG or .GIF format, the background turns to black. This is not the case when you use .PNG format.

2. A Logo Need not Display its Products

It is not necessary that a logo should display the products the company is offering. Instead use of a catchy tagline that spells out the primary message is more effective.

For example, if you are designing for a restaurant, it is not necessary that the logo should display food. If you consider the logo of Apple, does it display computers! Design something that leaves your audience astounded. Do not design something that becomes too predictable.

3. Include a Professional Wordmark

Again it is not necessary to always include a symbol in the logo. After having a consultation with the client, incorporating a professional wordmark is cool enough.

Remember a logo is meant to identify the nature of the business. If the design aptly does it, then there is no need of messing up the logo with irrelevant symbols or designs.

4.  Sketching Matters!

It is a better idea to sit with a paper and pencil to sketch some designs when ideas come to your mind. Remember that creative ideas flow much faster between the tip of a pencil and a paper than a mouse and the monitor.

5. Listen to your Client

Logo designing is not a one-way process. A logo that you created might not be liked or approved by the client. Therefore, it is important that you remain focused on the design brief provided by the client.

Things might not work out as you might have expected them to be. Therefore, always be open to communicating with the client, and listen to his suggestions and feedbacks. Try implementing the designs that the client wants to include in the logo. This way the logo will resemble the nature or theme of the client business.

6. Avoid Imitating Trends

It is good to follow trends in fashion, but not a wise idea as far as logo designing for a company is concerned. When you are creating an identity for a brand, it is more important that you create designs that are unique, matchless and instantly recognizable.

The logo you design has to linger in the minds of the customers for a long time. It is prolonged existence of the logo that matters, not trends! Do not imitate popular designs trends of already established brands. Shine out!

7. Take your Time

Designing a logo is not like getting a pizza delivered in 30 minutes! It takes time to form concrete ideas and conceptualize ideas. Time is consumed while brainstorming, making initial sketches, discussion with clients and other similar activities. Therefore, always take your time to conceptualize a logo.

8. Simplicity Rules!

Think simply when you are designing a logo for a brand. You have to think in terms of the targeted customers. The design and graphics should be easily understandable by the intended audience.

Consider the logos of ‘Nokia’, ‘BBC’ or ‘LG’. These logos are simple to understand, easy to remember, but has lasting impressions on the minds of the targeted audience.

Consider the above tips when you are designing a logo for a brand. I hope that you will be able to create a good impact in the minds of your audience. Design a memorable logo!
