If you love writing & want to make a career with writing then blogging is the best option for you. There are so many ways to create a blog or website. But the easiest way to create a blog is WordPress.

You don’t need to pay for WordPress but you have to pay for domain name and web hosting. Don’t worry, we will discuss these two things in this article.

The process is easy and it doesn’t matter whether you are 20 years old or 50 years old.

 What do we need to start a blog?

  • A domain name [name of your website]
  • A web hosting [the place where your website data is saved]
  • WordPress [To create your website]
  • Creative skills [To make your website more creative] 

And you are done!

How to get a domain name & web hosting?

A domain name is what people type to get to your website. Like my domain name is lokesharyan.com so, when someone searches for my blog then he will need to type lokesharyan.com and he will get it. Web hosting is kind of a PC where your website data will save. So, you have to purchase this two thing and you are ready to go!

I recommend best web hosting provider which I'm using for 2 years without any complaint. I'm talking about GoDaddy. I really like the services they provide. Their server load time is faster than other companies. You should read my previous article on Important Things You Should Know Before Creating Website/Blog. Once you read this, you will know what you should do or not.

Now, open your web browser and type godaddy.com It will automatically redirect to your country’s website. Go to Web Hosting. Select the proper plan and Continue. Please check the details of the plan you choose and you can upgrade your plan anytime. Enter the domain name means you can enter here you website name like lokesharyan.com & select .com/.in etc. It doesn’t matter what you choose like you can even choose .org it doesn’t make any effect on your Google ranking. If your domain name is already registered then you have to pick another name. And if you have a domain name then select I don’t want the free domain. Once you choose your domain Add & Continue.

Uncheck all other options like SSL certificate and privacy etc. Once again check your plan and duration. Hit Proceed to Checkout. Now, you have to create Godaddy account. Please fill billing details & make sure the details you are entering is correct. Otherwise, you can’t get the invoice and your website backend id/password. Check properly and Place Your Order. 

Now, login to your go daddy account and click on My Products. You can see all your products here like web hosting and domains.

How to connect your domain to web hosting?

Login to your email which you enter while creating GoDaddy account. You will find two emails. 1st is confirmation email. Click on the link to confirm. Once again login to your GoDaddy account and click on My Products. Click on the web hosting and choose Manage. Select Setup and pick your domain. Now, your domain is connected with your web hosting.

 Now, choose your data center. Create cPanel account to continue. If you want to create a website now then hit Yes & Finish otherwise it will set up your cPanel first and then you can create your website. Choose No, not now & Finish. Now you are at your cPanel of your web hosting. 

To create a website, choose WordPress form the Application & install. Now, select your domain and leave directory option as it is. Now, create your website backend id & password. Enter your website title & tagline. Choose the following options as per you want. Once you were done, now you are ready to go. Enter your domain into the web browser you will see your website. Now, you are ready to Customize Your WordPress Website.
