Posture – Simply thinking about your posture through the day can make a big difference to your overall appearance. Correct posture makes you appear taller and slimmer. To correct your posture you use muscles in your back and your stomach, so just by standing up straight your having a mini workout.

Eat little but often- Having many small meals and snacks throughout the day is a good way to ensure that you don’t gouge yourself and get bloated when you get to meal times. Eating small amounts regularly means that your body has a steady flow of food throughout the day, so you’ll be less inclined to have a mid afternoon energy crash and reach for quick sugary snacks.

Ditch the car- If you’re going a short distance why not leave the car at home. This is an especially valuable tip if you have a sedentary job that doesn’t require much movement throughout the day. Small chunks of movement are better than nothing at all. There’s also the added bonus that the more time you spend outside the more you may start to enjoy it, slowly bridging the gap between enjoyment and exercise.

Clean the house more – Believe it or not having a thorough tidy up twice a week can be a valuable source of exercise for you. Any movement is good movement.  You could even add a fun element to your daily chores put on your favourite music and have a dance while you’re cleaning, remember every step counts

Don’t try and beat you sugar urges by going cold turkey – You may think that it’s a necessary part of being slim but there is no need to completely cut out your favourite foods. In fact cutting out your favourite foods altogether is highly likely to push you to fall off the wagon all together. Instead you need to hone your powers of self control. If chocolate is your favourite vice treat yourself to a small piece at the end of each day if you’ve maintained a healthy diet throughout the day. That way you have more of an incentive to eat healthy food as you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
