Nike Group announces that new headquarters will be built in Shanghai, China. The construction of a new set of Nike's Greater China headquarters is built for Nike's employees. The Headquarters with an area of nearly 600,000 square feet (54,575 square meters or so) will be built in the Yangpu District of Shanghai. U.S. Tishman Real Estate company develop this multi-purpose project and named it with "Shangpu-the world guide". The Nike Company will carry out a new long-term strategy for its growth. It can raise its trading busniess. Before this project, Tishman Real Estate Company has its business in Tianjin and Chengdu and has made a few achievements.
It's not only a great surprise but also a strategic investment. All the Nike's employees will be gethered together in this headquaters and also the company's group brands. Because of the new headquarters' construction, the company's office facilities and its operation capacity could also be upgraded. In 2011 June, the annual revenue of Nike Company in the Greater China is over $2,000,000,000 for the first time. And the regional revenue growth rate is 35%, reported in the annual fiscal report in December 20th, 2012. At the very beginning of his construction, its value and importance have show its meaning. The Headquarters shows Shanghai's prominent market advantages and importance for business trading and for the local residences.
A long-term cooperation relationship will be built between Tishman and the Nike Group. As a company, Tishman is a combination of real estate owners, developers, operators and investment management companies. Nike has signed a long-term lease agreement with U.S. Tishman company on this project. Tishman plans to build Nike Greater China headquarters in an area of more than 587,227 square feet (54,575 square meters) . After the construction completed, the headquarters will include three office building and a five layer of multi-purpose conference center. Accompany with the commercial office building, a football field, a standard indoor basketball court and the first-class fitness facilities will also be built. A full set of catering facilities and a separate conference center used for holding large scale events and product launches will be installed in the new headquarters.
Nike Company claimed that the movement is going to occur in the first quarter in 2014. The building is located between Hongqiao airport and Pudong airport, the two largest airport in Shanghai. The transportation around the headquarters is quite convenient. With the main traffic hub and subway stations and 32 bus lines around the headquarters, it connects the Shanghai metropolitan area. Before the construction of the headquarters, it lies the airport facilities,which is  with the Ecological Conservation Park around.
