Featuring YouTube on the iPhoneSmart Phones, PDA phones, and iPhone. First there was Google Maps on the Apple iPhone, an eye-popping weather application from Yahoo and now Apple even has a YouTube featured application Finding cool stuff on YouTube is amazing... thinking about this again ... finding YouTube on the iPhone is even more amazing! I used to be a Treo fan ever since the Treo 600 was introduced about 5 years ago. Who would have imagined the power in one’s hands of a device that could do email, show photos, and add cool applications just by syncing to your PC. I primarily used productivity apps, like mortgage calculators, Powerpoint and Excel viewers and security software. But, I was also so enamored with the utility of the device that I added things like SplashPhoto to view photos of my family and friends … all on that gorgeous 240 x 240 screen! But nothing compares to the Apple iPhone and its gorgeous backlit 320 x 480 screen. Your photos pop, Internet web sites glow and now YouTube rocks. The special YouTube player can launch right from the home screen. So now, you can access and browse the most recent, featured and top rated YouTube videos wherever you go. And when you find a video you want to send your friends, iPhone can even create an email with the link in it for you. If you find another cool video but do not have enough time to watch it right away, simply bookmark it and go back to it anytime... anywhere. When you first load the application, you are presented with three top Cateories: Most, Recent, Top Rated and History. At the bottom of the application is a scroll bar that illustrates Featured, Most Viewed, Bookmarks, and Search. The YouTube application is so easy to use … simply tap the YouTube application button on the home screen, click on one of the icons to view Most Viewed for example and you are taken right to the videos. Tap a small graphic of the video and it starts right up in the special player made for the iPhone. The possibilities that exist with YouTube on the iPhone are amazing. If you compound that by the number of iPod Touch users who have this application, as well, one could easily see a huge commercial value to this as well, from training videos to how to demonstrations, etc. Whether
you are a YouTube fanatic or plainly someone who would enjoy spoof
videos
