At long last Nokia is releasing a handset with both looks and brains. A rare cocept indeed.

It seems now that Nokia's design department has changed personal or else had a revamp and changed direction with their ideas. Ten to fifteen years ago Nokia was top of the tree in the mobile phone handset league. Their phones were the most stylish and hence the most popular. Their main competitor in those days was Ericsson who in my opinion had better technology,Nokia X6 Articles but the handsets did not look half as nice always resembling a brick no matter what the size. As we all know Ericsson joined with Sony. The Ericsson technology and the Sony designs resulted into a serious competitor for Nokia. And strangely to me Nokia started to change the appearance of their phones making not such appealing models in design. This allowed the Sony Ericsson combination to eat into Nokia's dominance. But now I think that perhaps Nokia have realised this and woken up. Just take a look at the X series phones, the X6 and the X3.

Scheduled for release in the 4th quarter of 2009 the X6 has a perfectly timed release for Christmas time. And this handset will most definitely find itself on many Christmas shopping lists and in many Christmas stockings this year. It comes in two colour schemes of either Black/Red or White/Blue with a price tag of approximately £450.It is not the cheapest of handsets out there in the market but by jove it is certainly one of the most sleek looking. This is a phone you will be happy to be seen out with. Lets hope the phone is as successful as predicted and Nokia continue to develop looks in this vein.

Ok so now lets take a quick look at the fundamentals of the X6. The X6 is a development forward on the 5800 Xpressmusic phone. You can purchase the normal X6 or the version that “comes with music”, allowing you unlimited music downloads. The X6 is a lot sleeker than the 5800.The display screen is very similar but the inbuilt camera has been upgraded to a 5 mega pixel and the non expandable memory has been increased to 32GB.The X6 is a 3G phone with tri band and is being promoted by Nokia as a media player. There is Bluetooth stereo and the phone has its own speakers. Fm radio is inbuilt. The web browser comes with Flash lite support and the email client supports all standard protocols.

The music player on the handset is a Nokia Nseries digital music player. This has play lists, 8 band graphical equaliser, album graphics, bass booster, stereo widening, loudness and selection by either artist or genre. The music playback file formats are ; mp3, SPMidi, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA. And the ring tones consist of ; 3D stereo ring tones, 64-tone polyphonic, mp3 & video ring tones (3 videos and 9 mp3 songs built-in)

This latest handset from Nokia has the looks and the brains. A very rare combination indeed. We feel it will be a huge success and have an above average lifespan on the majority of handsets in similar categories out there just now.
