The Samsung Galaxy S has been available for some months now, and in this time it has received numerous rave reviews and had even reached sales of 10 million units.

The screen is even manufactured from Gorilla glass, which protects it from shattering should the worst happen and the phone gets dropped, a scenario many smartphone owners are all too familiar with. There is also an accelerometer sensor included which allows the on screen content to be viewed in either landscape or portrait. The innovative Swype feature is also included as standard, a features which allows users to greatly improve the speed at which text is entered with the onscreen QWERTY keyboard.

 

In order gain a fast and reliable internet browsing experience, the Samsung Galaxy S utilises an HSDPA connection in areas where 3G coverage is present. A faster connection comes with the appropriate access to local wireless networks whereby the integrated Wi-Fi connectivity comes into play. Cellular networks rely on the usual GPRS and EDGE networks, whilst Bluetooth and micro USB are both included to connect the handset to compatible devices.

 

8 GB of internal storage capacity is provided as standard within the Samsung Galaxy S (a 16GB version is also available). This makes it the ideal option for people who like to keep their files on their phone, whether they are music tracks, video clips, photos or Microsoft Office documents. As if this wasn’t enough, an additional 32GB of additional storage can be achieved thanks to a microSD card slot.

 

A 5 megapixel camera is also provided, making the Samsung Galaxy S a competent cameraphone. This is capable of snapping great quality still images, and also comes with the capacity to shoot video footage in 720p HD.

 

The renowned Android OS is the operating system of choice. This works alongside a powerful 1GHz processor to create a great platform for customisation, especially given the option to download apps from the Android Market.
