HTC has seen the Desire become one of its most popular handsets. Since its March 2010 release date, this handset has gained many followers thanks to its versatile functionality coupled with the availability of some superb contract deals.

The HTC Desire features a vast internal phonebook which can store a huge number of entries and fields.  It also features the Photocall application which allows users to assign a photo to a particular contact within the phonebook,The Desire By HTC IS A Superb Android Handset Articles and this is in turn displayed on screen whenever that person is in contact.  Along with generous internal storage, the HTC Desire utilises an integrated micro SD card slot which comes with a pre-installed 4GB memory card.  This can be upgraded however, by installing a memory card of up to 32GB, offering ample storage for a huge number of files such as music tracks or video clips etc.

Measuring a pocket friendly 119x 60x 11.9 millimetres, the HTC Desire is also surprisingly light weight at just 135 g which makes it a pleasure to hold and use on the move.  Aesthetic appeal is provided to style conscious users who also view their phone as a fashion statement thanks to the availability of black, brown and silver colour variants of the handset.

An impressive 5 mega pixel digital camera is provided with the HTC Desire.  Thanks to its high operating pixel resolution, it produces excellent quality still images with high levels of detail and clarity.  In order to simplify the task of taking great snapshots, as well as improving the quality of them a number of built in features are provided, including Autofocus, smile detection, LED flash and geo-tagging.  As well as still images, the camera can also record high quality video footage at 15 frames per second in at WVGA quality.

One of the reasons for the success of the HTC Desire is surely it's versatility and everyday functionality.  Version 2.1 of the increasingly popular Android operating system is utilised, and in conjunction with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz processor, demanding applications are handled with ease, at lightning fast speeds.  A number of entertainment features are included such as a versatile internal media player which supports a host of different music and video file formats.  A stereo FM radio player with RDS allows users to listen to their favour radio station on the move, whilst a number of pre-installed games keeps users entertained for hours on end.  Social networkers are also catered for with twitter, Flickr and Facebook applications.  GPS with A-GPS support allows certain features such as the digital compass, geo-tagging and Google maps to function.

The 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is an interactive and efficient way of navigating the HTC Sense user interface.  A thumb operated optical trackpad is also provided for navigating menus.  The screen can display up to 16M colours, making it perfect for viewing photos and video files, which can be viewed in both portrait and landscape thanks to a built in accelerometer sensor.

You would be hard pressed to find a user who is not catered for with the HTC Desire's list of specifications.  This, combined with its affordable contracts on a number of networks means HTC is surely found the formula for a successful handset.
