Along with handsets such as the 7 Mozart and HD7, HTC has just released the HTC 7 Pro. As with many handsets with “Pro” in the title, this handset packs a slide out QWERTY keyboard for efficient text entry and navigation of the innovative tile interface of the new Windows Phone 7 OS from Microsoft.

A 3.6 inch capacitive touchscreen gives users and intuitive and easy to use means of navigating the UI. For example, the SMS or email folders indicate how many unread messages are in the inbox, whilst social networking features contain notifications and updates. The screen also offers fantastic display quality thanks to a pixel layout of 480x 800. Either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage is available depending on which model is purchased. Thanks to such generous levels of internal storage, the need for a microSD card slot is essentially eliminated. This means that it is easy to keep all your music tracks, photos, videos and even Microsoft Office documents with you at all times; ideal for the busy professional, or multimedia enthusiast alike.

 

Whether you are making calls, sending messages or browsing the internet, the HTC 7 Pro has you covered with the optimum levels of connectivity provided at all times. In order to stay connected to cellular networks, the HTC 7 Pro features GPRS and EDGE in class 32 versions, whilst access to the internet is provided initially via 3G coverage. When users have the appropriate access to cellular networks in a commercial or domestic location, they can also take advantage of the phone’s built in Wi-Fi compatibility to provide them with a faster internet browsing experience. Of course, the standard Bluetooth and microUSB connections are also provided to connect the phone to compatible hardware devices.

 

The HTC 7 Pro is also a competent cameraphone, further adding to its versatility and appeal. A 5 megapixel camera is located on the back of the handset, and this does a great job of taking high quality still images. This is thanks to a pixel resolution of 2595x 1944 which results in great detail and clarity of the resulting images. The camera comes with an LED flash, autofocus and face detection as well as geo-tagging. The latter functions thanks to GPS, and allows users to view the locations where they used the camera. As an added bonus, users also have the option to utilise the camera for shooting HD video footage in 720p quality. 

 

The versatility of the operating system (which works in conjunction with a 1GHz processor) is likely to provide a large amount of the appeal of this handset: it is easy to use and packed with enough standard features to keep everyone happy, be they multimedia enthusiasts, or those seeking a productivity tool for the workplace. Its functionality is comprehensive, and all these features are encased within a compact handset. Thanks to this, expect to see a lot more of the HTC 7 Pro in the coming months.
