One of the most popular smartphones of recent times has been the Samsung Galaxy S. This technologically advanced smartphone has sold over 10,000,000 units since its release in June 2010. This is thanks largely to its extensive spec list, along with superb aesthetics and general versatility of features which offers something for everyone.

A fantastic Internet browsing experience is assured with the Samsung Galaxy S thanks to 3G coverage providing the initial means of network connectivity.  When this is the case, an HSDPA connection provides download speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second, providing fast Internet browsing.  An even faster Internet browsing experience can be attained however, thanks to full Wi-Fi connectivity which allows users to take advantage of local wireless Internet routers.  To finish off the package of connectivity features, Bluetooth and micro USB connections are provided as standard.

 

A handy 5 mega pixel digital camera is located on the back of the handset, providing the Samsung Galaxy S with the means to take high quality still images.  The operating pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels results in fantastic detail and colour on the resulting photos.  Autofocus, touch focus, face & smile detection are provided as standard as is geo-tagging.  Additionally, high definition video footage can be shot using this camera, and this is in 720p quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.  Users can even stream their photos and videos wirelessly to a compatible television thanks to DLNA connectivity.

 

The Samsung Galaxy S ships with Android 2.1 as standard, however this is upgradeable to later versions if the popular operating system.  In conjunction with a 1GHz processor, a fantastic user experience is assured.  The Samsung Galaxy S comes with a long list of standard features which include a multitude of multimedia applications such as a versatile media player which supports many different formats of both music and video files, and radio player and a selection of pre-installed games.  For those seeking a productivity device for the workplace, a document viewer is included which is compatible with Microsoft Office documents.  Social networking forms an important part of any smartphone, and full social networking integration is included, with apps for sites such as Facebook and Twitter.  Additional applications can be downloaded free of charge for paid, depending on the application thanks to access to the Android Market.
