Samsung have recently released an attractive touchscreen handset, the Samsung S5620 Monte. It offers great styling and superb everyday functionality with key features including digital camera, touch screen navigation and internet access.
The Monte measures 108.8x53.7x12.4mm and weighs in at just 92 grams. This makes it comfortable to hold and a pleasure to use on the move. The colour scheme is a sophisticated black, and the styling is simplistic and modern, adding to its appeal.
For storing data such as media files, the Monte comes supplied with 200MB of internal storage. Bluetooth and USB connection provide connectivity to other devices such as compatible phones and computers.
The 3 inch TFT capacitive touch screen offers great quality screen display thanks to a pixel layout of 240x400 displaying 256,000 colours. An accelerometer sensor is built in, which rotates the image on screen based on the orientation of the phone, so it can be viewed in both portrait and landscape.
As well as a versatile media player which supports a range of different music and video file formats, social networking integration, stereo FM radio playback and a choice of games all add to the entertainment options in the Samsung Monte. For productivity, an organiser, voice memo recorder and T9 predictive text input are all included.
Alert types include vibration and MP3 ringtones, which allow a degree of handset customisation and alert users to incoming calls and messages. Hands free communication is made possible thanks to a speakerphone and audio jack.
The Samsung Monte has a 3.15 mega pixel camera (2048x1536 pixel resolution), so still images of good quality can be taken. QVGA quality video can be shot at a frame rate of 15 per second, offering an alternative to taking still images.
