The first network to release the new Samsung Monte is Virgin Mobile, also known as the Samsung S5620 Monte this latest touch screen phone is very much focused on social networking.

With a large focus of the phone on social networking there is support for most major websites including Facebook, Bebo, Twitter and Myspace with widgets on the hone screen for quick access.There is also a comprehensive multimedia player with a 3.5mm audio jack so that the user can plug in their own set of headphones rather than having to use the pair supplied, the Samsung S5620 also supports Stereo Bluetooth which further adds to the music experience.There are a few handsets currently available that can compete well against this latest Samsung phone, LG has released their LG Pop which offers a better camera, Nokia have their Nokia X6 which integrates further multimedia options, there is also the Sony Ericsson Vivaz which takes the photographic features even further with HD support and an 8 mega pixel camera and Samsung themselves have launched the Samsung Galaxy Portal which runs on the Android operating system.Other competing phones which have been around for some time but fall into a similar price bracket include the Samsung Tocco Lite, LG Cookie and Nokia 5230 all of which offer a similar sized touch screen. Although initially released on the Virgin network there are further plans for this new Samsung phone to be launched by Orange as well as other major networks over the coming weeks, in other markets the Samsung Monte is known under different names with Spain opting for the Samsung Onix.
