Website Niches: Learn more about website niches

Learn what website niches are. Everyone understands what a website is but how would you define the word niche? This article helps define the word niche and uses it to better grasp an understanding of what we mean when we talk about niches!

Hey everyone! For those of you who might not be sure of what I'm talking about, lets break down the word. We know what a website is (if you don't by now there's nothing we can do to help, lol) but what exactly are niches? Let's go to dictionary.com, my favorite place to look up words on the internet.

Dictionary.com says niches are (first three def., nouns)
1. an ornamental recess in a wall or the like, usually semicircular in plan and arched, as for a statue or other decorative object.
2. a place or position suitable or appropriate for a person or thing: to find one's niche in the business world.
3. a distinct segment of a market.

OK! So the first one is not the way I'm meaning to use it in the word "website niches", but the last two are spot on!

So basically website niches would be a website that features "places or positions suitable for a person or thing"; or a website using, featuring, or catering to "distinct segments of a market". Interesting right.

This article helps me too because I was one of those people who know what things are basically and just about how to use them correctly, but I wasn't sure exactly what it meant. Like I wouldn't have been able to give that clear of an explanation myself!

Back on topic! For example, this site is using website niches to generate traffic! This site caters to people like me who write articles and are darn proud of it :) It also niches (to use the verb form!) other sites similar to it to sort of bring everyone together and generate even more traffic with all of the sites interlinking to one another!

If you don't already use it, here's your word for the day, Niche! Hey just for fun you can even use the first pronounciation!! (In your best british accent) "You know, that's a beautiful niche there!" "Huh?" "Oh, i'm just mentioning that wonderful use of niching with that sculpture. I do sayFind Article, it's magnificient!"

Bye for now!
