CAT Exam

CAT (Common Admission Test) exam is one the top most and difficult exam in India for admissions in Top B-Schools. It is an online based exam,An Insight about Top MBA Exam : CAT  Articles held every year in month of November or December. It was first started in 1950 and from then till now students willing to take admission in post graduate management programmes in Top Business Schools need to score well in CAT Exam. This exam is jointly conducted by all the IIMs and TATA Consultancy services provide the technical support for this exam.

Duration of the exam is 3hrs and the student’s knowledge is tested in terms of Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Analytical Reasoning. All the top colleges other than IIMs accept only CAT score for the admission.

The eligibility for this exam is a candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Person With Disability (PWD) categories].For the candidates whose result is yet to be declared you have to provide the Aggregate Percentage up to the last marks statement received from the University. The exam fee is Rs.1700 for General and OBC Candidates and Rs.850 for SC/ST/PWD category. The Payment mode is online through credit card, debit card, or net banking facility.

The registration for the CAT exam starts from Monday, 8th August 2016 and closes on Thursday, 22nd September 2016. All the instruction related to online registration, the application process, and online test centers is available in the website: www.iimcat.ac.in. The admit card will be available for viewing and printing from Tuesday, 18th October 2016. No hard copy will be provided to candidates. Special provisions are been provided to the PWD candidates.

A practice paper is also available online in CAT official websites and will be available by end of October 2016. CAT 2016 has three sections:

Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

Section III: Quantitative Ability

Also there is -1 negative mark for the incorrect answer.
