Let your guests make their own Best Margarita. Follow these easy steps to set up a Margarita Bar at your next party. Special flavors, salts and garnishes.
How to Set Up a 3-Flavor Margarita Bar
Make the Base Recipe:
3 parts Tequila
2 parts Triple Sec
1 part fresh lime juice
Just follow the ratio above (3-2-1) to make any quantity desired; a single drink or an entire pitcher full.
Make the Simple Syrup:
1 part water
1 part sugar
Again, make any amount, just follow the ratio (1 to 1). All you have to do is simmer until sugar is dissolved, then chill.
Prepare Flavored Purees by combining different ingredients with the Simple Syrup. Here are some options:
Strawberry--2 cups Simple Syrup with 2 cups hulled strawberries.
Pineapple-Jalapeno--2 cups Simple Syrup with 2 cups chopped fresh or canned pineapple and 1/2 fresh seeded jalapeno
Peach--2 cups Simple Syrup with 2 cups canned or fresh peaches
Put each flavor in a separate pitcher and keep the pitchers in a drink tub filled with ice.
Create A Garnish Tray--Garnishes make the drink so don't forget this part! At a minimum, offer fresh fruit garnishes including limes, lemons and oranges. Then to make is special, add garnishes to match the flavors you have chosen (strawberries, peaches...).
Create Flavored Salt--In a food processor pulse together citrus zest and kosher salt (one flavor at a time). Good choices are lime zest, lemon zest and orange zest.
Set up the Margarita Bar--In addition to the pitchers of flavored purees, the flavored salts and the garnish tray, set out an ice bucket and margarita glasses.
Make the Best Margarita Ever!--For each margarita:
Rim the Glass--Dip glass in Simple Syrup then flavored salt of your choice (ex. if making a Strawberry Margarita, maybe you want lemon salt).
Fill glass with ice
Add Base Margarita Mix until glass is 3/4 full
Add Flavored Puree of choice to top off glasss
Stir and enjoy!
You can easily make Frozen Margaritas by combining ingredients in a blender and then pouring into your rimmed glasses.
Set up a Margarita Bar and offer your guests different flavor options along with zesty rimming salt and fresh garnishes. Your guests will appreciate the extra effort and novelty of being able to choose their own margarita flavor.
