The money you will not find a better outdoor ptz camera. Your settings is easy fix, edit your config and take 15 seconds. The night vision is also excellent.

It is fast in setting and it works great. The night vision is also excellent. It is very clear. The image is sharp and clear in colors. It is as good as $1500 versions camera price. The money you will not find a better outdoor PTZ camera.
There are things you need to know before you consider to buy. Firstly, it need to use the 3-5 amp power supply included with the camera. This Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ camera pulls more amps than the 'normal' CCTV cameras. If you have a 12v system and the existing cameras only pull 1/2 -1 amp each. Your Altronix power supply box which had 4 other cameras attached with it. It has rated 5 amps total that was not enough. You need to keep the Zmodo Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ 1/4-Inch 420TVL 22x Zoom Retail Camera on it's own power supply. Secondly, your existing video/power cable from the old camera in the attic was insufficient. That cable is a 100 foot premade power/video cable. It could not handle the 3-5 amp load to this camera required. You have to buy a new 120 ft premade cable rated for the higher amps off Ebay. This was consulted with the seller who knows this stuff. He suggested what we needed for.
RS485 is the control for the pan-tilt-zoom. You can use existing connecters if your premade cable has them. You also can run 20 gauge wire and connect it to the back of the DVR. The DVR is Q-See and there is only 1 place to connect RS485. Multiple Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ 's can be daisy-chained to that same connection.You do not touch the dips as the camera is the only Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ camera in this system.
The defaults were Pelco-D, 2400 Baud, databit=8, stopbit=1, parity=none, address=1. The 'address' set on the dips on the camera must match the 'address' setting on the DVR for that camera. You have an 8 camera DVR. You connect the video cable for this camera to channel 4. This insures the 'address' setting is correct ('001') under 'channel 4' in the Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ camera setup on the Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ camera . Make sure no other channels have '001' for the address or the RS485 will be confused. Each PTZ camera needs to have it's own unique 'address'. You post a picture of 'channel 4' settings.
Points have to take notes. When the Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ camera does not respond for some reason it seems to get 'stuck'. You played with the 'cruise' settings. You must be sure to go back into 'cruise' and 'exit' out of there or the camera RS485 will be confused. You will notice that the camera loses focus at dusk and dawn. Maybe it gets confused turning on/off the night vision. You can take a second to hit the zoom setting to correct this. It will become clear. You will also notice the color is not as good as the other cameras. May be You play with the color settings to fine tune it. Mount it high enough to have better full range. However it cause the zooming in your image drops. For the best results mounts to a pole dropping from the top. This pole must make a big U on the end. You image will not be partially obstructed by your mount. From now, you will happy with this Weatherproof Night Vision PTZ camera .
