I personally think that everybody needs some time alone to be in their thinking corner. Without self reflection in life, we will be caught up in the flow of life without knowing what we really want. I have set up a nice cosy thinking corner where I start my morning powerfully by thinking of the person I intend to be. Everything starts from the mind before it can be conceived. You should too.

Recently,Do You Need A Thinking Corner? Articles I brought a small wooden table and 2 chairs for my balcony to chill with my friends during the cool night.  Having a thought that it is a good idea to host my friends as well as it can be used as a good family bonding place to just sit there and relax. Sooner than I thought, the hype died off pretty fast. My friends will only come if I asked them to, my parents and brother will only sit there upon request. Other than that, it will spend most of its time sitting at a corner nicely folded.

Until recently, I decided to move it into my room for a night as my friend was coming over for some wine as the night wasn’t cool. (In my area, having a nice cool night only happens when there’s rain in the afternoon or evening or during end of the year where it’s much cooler) Somehow, after it was setup on the only space I left in my room which is beside the wide windows against the yellow walls.

It immediately blended in perfectly and it is always looked so inviting for anybody who comes into my room. One by one my diary, my thought books and my dream setting book found a new home. It seems like I have setup an unexpected corner where I used it for daily reflections and affirmation.

Each morning, I will start my day with writing down 10 grateful things. Then I will proceed with reading some quotes as an incantation for my life. Recently, I have found one that was mentioned by Will Smith. “My thoughts are physical in the universe. The universe is not going to push me around. I am going to command and demand the universe to become what I want it to be.” And lastly, I will be reading a book on Self-Help. (I am almost done with Five Minutes on Monday by Rabbi Alan Lurie. Very insightful book which I highly recommend)

I feel that everybody needs a thinking corner where they can start off their morning well. Even if you need to sacrifice a bit of your sleeping time, just spend 10 to 15 minutes at your thinking corner so that you can prepare yourself for the challenges the day will bring you.

It greatly helps you to focus on your goals, your work, your dreams and your life. If you have a personal study room that’s wonderful, if you don’t you can be like me put another table in the room. If there’s not enough space use the dining table outside.

In essential, it is the quiet time you need everyday but the settings puts you in the mood. I have 2 chairs in my room. Both are less than 2 metres apart but the mood is totally different when I sit on the other chair. Try it out. If you are determine to change your life. “Change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer
