Paying your apartment utilities on time should be one of your top priorities while your living in your new apartment home.  Check with the manager to find out what utilities you will not be responsible for. Usually you will not make direct payments to the water company. This will be billed to you along with your rental amount. But if your rent does not include bills, you will be responsible for paying for Internet, cable, telephone, and electricity, and gas. How You Receive Bills

Decide how you would like to receive your bills. Many renters like to receive all of their bills online while others prefer the mail.  If you don’t check the mail often, email may be a better option. Some utility providers will offer you something in return if you choose the email option as it saves them money. But if you have roommates a copy in the mail may serve better purposes so you all can view it together.

Paying bills online offers  more convenience as you simply can log into your account and pay by credit card or have the provider draft money directly from your bank account. 

Pay By Mail

If you plan on paying by mail make sure you send off your payment in a timely manner. Many of them will take a check but will charge you an extra fee. If you pay late you will be charged a late fee. 

Pay Automatically

You can provide your bank account number or credit card number on file and they will debit your account each month. You won’t have to worry about making payments as they will be done for you automatically on a date you specify each month
