Obstacles are only obstacles if you see it that way; it's a matter of perception. We are attracted to them because we have lessons to learn. When we do the introspective work to really see what gift the so-called obstacles presents, then we see what changes need to be made and then implement those changes.

Self-appreciation!  When we love ourselves,Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson #45 Articles we are in a state of high joy vibration.  We have light all around us.  We love the good and the so-called obstacles, which by the way are only an illusion of our perspective of those obstacles.

Years ago, when I was really sick for several months, this was definitely an obstacle….or was it?  I initially saw it as an obstacle, but then I changed the way I looked at it.  I had such profound thoughts of worry and fear a lot of the time, and didn’t understand how my thoughts were attracting everything I didn’t want, including this illness.

During this time, I allowed myself to do my internal spiritual work that I needed in order to SEE, really open my eyes to my life at that time—who was I and what would a person have to believe about herself to be thinking worry and fear a lot of the time?

I had thoughts of “Why did this illness happen to me?”  Then synchronicity occurred.  I started to read all these spiritual books which happened to just come into my life at the appropriate time.  These books discussed variations on the Law of Attraction.  I realized that I attracted this illness because there were lessons that I needed to learn from it, and truly get it!  I was ready to receive the information and make huge changes in my life.

Sometimes the gift is in a different package than what we would hope for, isn’t it?

Prior to that illness my connection to God was very corroded.  I was existing in a state of darkness with those negative emotions that were overwhelming at times, especially at night.  But you know something?  I soon realized that I was the one who kept turning off the lights, and I had a decision to make.  I wanted to get well, but I also wanted to know how to create my life differently.  I knew that I was emerging as this butterfly coming out of her cocoon that she put had put herself in for so many years.

Incidentally, that’s why my Kick Buts Weight Loss program has a butterfly to click on—it’s a beautiful image of transformation.

It was through this sickness that I discovered me—beautiful, shining Tami.  This obstacle was not an obstacle after all; it was a beautiful gift wrapped up in pink light because I changed the way I looked at it.  I hadn’t known how to do self-appreciation and love myself.  I didn’t even know what that looked like, but I soon learned.

What does this mean to you?

You may be encountering different things in your life right now.  Your gift is right here, right now.  The obstacle is only an illusion as there is something profound being revealed to you.  You only have to open your eyes to see the gift of YOU—and love yourself more.

Here’s a beautiful quote taken from, "Hot Chocolate For the Mystical Lover" by Arielle Ford:

For Betterment of Conditions by Anonymous.   Everything that I do, say, or think is governed by Divine Intelligence and inspired by Divine Wisdom. I am guided into right action.  I am surrounded with friendship, love, and beauty.  Enthusiastic joy, vitality, and inspiration are in everything I do.  I am sure of myself because I am sure of God.  I know that what is 'mine' will calm me, know me, rush to me.

Isn’t this beautiful?

Recently, when I was seeing something as an obstacle, I was talking to a friend and she read this to me over the phone and it changed my thinking.   I am surrounded by beautiful friends.

Do self-appreciation.  Nurture yourself.  Be kind to yourself.  Love yourself.  When seeing something as an obstacle, then do a simple process.  Say, “I see you obstacle and I love you for revealing yourself because you’re showing me that there is something greater in store for me.”

Then get up and shake your hiney and shout, “I am awesome!  I am beautiful!  I am God’s gift to the world!   WAHOO!

Now here is another beautiful quote:
