Internet Marketing 101 - See Your Product With a Brand New Set of Eyes and Increase SalesIn this article you will learn how you can visualize your product with a brand new set
of eyes and increase your sales doing so. The brand new set of eyes can
be: Eyes of an impersonal, distant observer, your own eyes and the eyes
of the reader themselves. Most new internet marketers fall into the trap of writing product descriptions in third person, with the eyes of a distant, uninvolved observer. While this set of eyes is quite adequate for factual product feature descriptions, and adding details to them, it will not generate as many sales and produce as much revenue as the other sets of eyes you could take on in your product descriptions. That is not to say that you could not start your description in third person, but I advise you not to stay there for the entire page. The second set of eyes is the one of your own eyes. When first seeing the product, what impression did you make of it? What excited you about the product? What emotions went through you as you first put your hands on it? You may want to write about the product from your personal perspective. You could focus on a single detail of one feature that really impressed you and describe your reaction. If you are doing that with excitement, the believability of your description grows tremendously on the reader's subconscious level. Furthermore, it is quite likely the reader will be able to put himself into the picture as not someone just observing the product from a distance, but will be able to imagine himself interacting with the product as well. You can further enhance this type of the identification with the product and its uses by writing with yet another set of eyes, the eyes of your reader or visitor. Instead of addressing the reader with "you" or "your" as if you are just talking to them, use the second person description in your writing. Here the "you" and "your" will pertain to the reader actually interacting with the product and receiving the benefits from it. Example: "imagine yourself waking up in the morning to a ray of light whose brightness is slowly and tenderly increasing, and not coming from the morning sun, but coming from your brand new sunrise light alarm clock." When the reader does that, imagines themselves slowly and gently waking up to a natural light, they are already receiving the benefit not unlike the benefit of the actual alarm clock that is already in their possession. There. These are the three sets of eyes you can employ when writing your product descriptions. I normally start with the third person, then I add my personal experiences written in first person, and I end the descriptions with the second person, transferring the action to the reader. You can do the same. So now that you know all three sets of eyes, go ahead and inspect your present product pages. What set of eyes do they use? Could you add more sets of eyes? If you could , why not?
Including more sets of eyes would make your writing more attractive for
the reader and easier to write for you.
