Where it gets tricky is when you have a workout idea, some equipment or some home regimen, and you are attempting to bring it to both the male and female markets simultaneously.  One misstep either direction and you turn off the other gender. That program borrowed heavily from principles that are now revolutionizing home workouts: the idea that you want to go at it as hard as you can under controlled oversight, stop and take a break for about 30 seconds and then dig right in again. This is known as high intensity max interval training. What sports scientists are finding is that working out in this way with correct form can cause you to lose weight faster and reshape your entire body in less time

The other two major inspirations in the GSP RushFit MMA training creation process were the gym workout “Cross Fit” and the sport of mixed martial arts itself. When you look at all the theories and inspirations behind the GSP RushFit MMA training program you see one overriding theme that tends to beg a larger question: you are burning so hard and working at such a pace that you will also burn fat and lose weight. There is no way around it.  What does this mean for your strength? Will you necessarily lose that too. This question arises mostly because some Insanity users did note that they felt like they sacrificed muscle definition when they lost weight in the program.

What GSP RushFit MMA training added to the mix to alleviate this concern was two things. First, the use of dumbbell free weights added a resistance component. Second you have an entire workout devoted to areas of strength training that is largely ignored in many cardio based workouts: this has to do with explosive power. There are many who believe that if you want to get better results in less time weight lifting, that adding explosive power training is the key.
