The oil and fat content in non vegetarian Indian food is more in comparison to vegetarian food. Thus people end up associating this fact with vegetarian food too. Indians are aware of the setbacks non vegetarian food upholds. They are health conscious therefore do not mind sticking to their vegetarian guns.

Non vegetarian food may be rich in Omega Three fatty acids but vegetarian food does not lag behind. Vegetarian food is fibrous and low in fat.  Blood and sugar levels are administered by vegetarian diets. India is an amalgamation of vegans and vegetarians. This country has pioneered veganism and promoted it for decades. There is a vast difference between vegetarians and vegans. Vegans avoid consuming all animal based products. On the other hand, vegetarians are of two types. Some prefer dairy products and eggs, while the second group avoids dairy products and eggs. In both cases they consume a well balanced diet every day to prevent disease from plaguing their lifestyle.

Traditional food is a prominent aspect of vegetarian cuisine. The traditional cuisine encompasses of Rajasthani food and Gujarati food. Both cuisines are prepared using aboriginal condiments and ingredients found arid regions. Rajasthani food is a fad and the most popular in all of North India. Moreover Indian restaurants found abroad also serve Rajasthani spread. The Rajasthani cuisine is designed keeping in mind the condition of the desert region. This cuisine can be consumed without heating. The scarcity of water has its advantageous effect on the vegetables. It is a fact that the Rajasthani spread has superfluous variety which is unbeatable by any other cuisine.
