It is normal for all people to have some fears,Arachnophobia - A Spider Phobia You Can Quickly Overcome Articles but suffering from a phobia is a more significant problem. A phobia is an extreme fear that a sufferer can't control. Phobias are classified as a type of anxiety disorder, and often create nervousness and panic attacks in an individual. When a person has a phobia, they become so determined to stay away from their fear that it affects their daily activities and their ability to enjoy life.

Some of the most common phobias are acrophobia, the fear of heights, claustrophobia, a fear of enclosed spaces, and arachnophobia, the fear of spiders. The number one most common phobia is arachnophobia. Although lots of people are afraid of spiders, people with arachnophobia have an unusual amount of fear. Even a photo or drawing of an arachnid can make some arachnophobes uneasy. Some arachnophobes have panic attacks or panic at the sight of an arachnid. They might do anything in order to avoid a spider; for instance, people with a severe case of arachnophobia might attempt to climb out of a moving vehicle if they see a spider next to them.

Sufferers often feel ashamed of their unrestrained responses. Other people and even the sufferers themselves often see their behavior as irrational. Their fear of spiders and their reaction to arachnids may cause other problems as well. Arachnophobia and other phobias often lead to a condition known as agoraphobia.

Agoraphobia develops when an individual is afraid of being in any potentially stressful setting or situation. For a person with arachnophobia, this means avoiding any place a spider might be hiding, unfamiliar places, and even avoiding leaving the house or going outside altogether. This can negatively interfere with a person's regular. A person may be afraid of having panic attacks or embarrassing him or herself by losing control. Many people find themselves constantly stressed over their fears.

People with phobias often struggle to control their fears. The truth is the root of the fear exists in the unconscious mind; so conscious effort or willpower won't work to control a phobia. A phobia is best treated at the unconscious level, which is why Ericksonian hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques are the most effective phobia treatments.

There are many different hypnotherapy programs available for curing phobias. Most use traditional hypnotic techniques that depend on the use of post-hypnotic suggestions with highly exact wording to work against fears. These days, post-hypnotic suggestions often do not work because people have a tendency to question everything. And since today's population is likely to do the opposite of what they are told, they resist post-hypnotic suggestions and experience a polar response.

Ericksonian hypnosis differs from traditional hypnotherapy because it uses indirect suggestions that are embedded in conversation. This makes them hard for the conscious mind to pick out, so they will make it through to the unconscious mind and be accepted.

The typical procedure starts by using hypnosis to make you feel completely relaxed and calm. Then, instead of simply "telling" your unconscious mind what to do, Ericksonian techniques use stories and metaphors to direct your mind into a fear-free line of thought.

NLP techniques work by targeting the specific thought process that generates an extreme phobia and using it to eliminate the fear. Because of this, NLP can be used on all phobias.

People respond much better to the combination of NLP and Ericksonian techniques than to conventional hypnosis because instead of hearing direct orders, the unconscious mind is convinced to follow a different, more logical thought process. These hypnosis programs work great for people who are logical, critical thinkers and people who are independent thinkers.

You do not need a different hypnosis program for each different phobia. A single program that includes several sessions containing the ideal combination of Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP techniques can treat any phobia. Furthermore, a good program will be effective for everyone. The mix of different techniques in several different sessions ensures success for everyone who uses them. By following each step of the process, people are often amazed at how quickly they triumph over their fears.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP focus on turning irrational behaviors and fears into calm, collected responses. For many individuals suffering from debilitating fears such as arachnophobia, this is a life-changing treatment. Hypnosis therapy is a powerful tool for overcoming anxieties and fears to live a better life.
