Your mind is connected to all these resources and your brain never shuts down, your mind is working for you even when it is off duty. When your mind is in its natural state, pure and clear, it serves you extremely well, but when it becomes tangled in the delusions of daily life it can switch from helpful servant to disruptive master.

Imagine that consciousness is like water:

  • Your personal consciousness is the supply of water you can carry around in a canteen,Levels of Consciousness - Mind Freedom Articles as if it belonged to you privately, for your exclusive use. With this personal consciousness you think, perceive, feel, and make choices.
  • The collective consciousness is the supply of fresh water the planet provides for the global tribe of humanity. It is a shared consciousness, common to all human beings, although few have learned how to make full use of it. Those who have experience what is commonly called ESP (extra sensory perception), e.g., telepathy, clairvoyance, astral projection, and remote viewing.
  • The superconsciousness (also known as Cosmic Consciousness or God Consciousness) is the infinite supply of water falling to planet Earth from the heavens. Totally impersonal, it is readily available to everyone free of charge. Although only rare individuals regularly access this consciousness, those who do experience mystical perceptions, e.g., samadhi, nirvana, enlightenment.

Because your mind is connected to all these resources and your brain never shuts down, your mind is working for you even when it is off duty. Your dreams can give you guidance. Solutions to complicated problems often arise when you've stopped thinking about the answer and left things to percolate for a while. Sudden flashes of inspiration and insight (Aha! moments) seem to arrive out of nowhere.

When your mind is in its natural state, pure and clear, it serves you extremely well, but when it becomes tangled in the delusions of daily life it can switch from helpful servant to disruptive master. Random thoughts of past and future prevent you from enjoying the present. Memory tapes of failure and unworthiness can keep you in a loop of unfulfilled potential. Deeply ingrained prejudices can blind you from seeing for yourself. It's time to reclaim your Mind Freedom.
