I live on Australia’s Gold Coast, in a little suburb called Mermaid Beach. Its a lovely, sunny place to live, almost like a large country town. Not too big that you get caught up in the crazy pace of big city life and forget to take in all the blessings that come to you every day. Not too small that you miss out on the cosmopolitan conveniences and luxuries that come with population centres.
We now have a baby on the way. A surprise that has brought us closer together. And as I was sitting here, watching my pregnant partner having a nap on the couch, I was suddenly overcome by an immense feeling of gratitude, that I am lucky enough to live the life I have built around me. I don’t have to go to the office or a work site anymore, trading my days away to put food on the table, I let my internet businesses like Gold Coast Surfboardsdo that for me. Instead I get up when my body tells me its time, and go for a surf in the ocean, which is a 2 minute walk from my front door.
Then, when I’ve had enough (usually when my arms can take no more paddling) I’ll go and buy a latte from the cafe up the road, come home and spend an hour or two on my websites, writing articles like this one, to make the websites work a little better each day. This guarantees that tomorrow I still won’t have to go to the office. Then around lunch time, the postman will ride by. This always fills me with excitement as he often delivers the cheques that make the website business so rewarding. I really am lucky.
And I know why I am lucky too. Its because I learned the skills required to sell products and services on the internet. Goodness knows I can’t sell in the physical world, I don’t have thick enough skin for the constant rejection. But I can sell on the internet. This is because I learned the internet marketing skills and techniques that turn websites into cashflow machines. I learnt from the masters of the day, and continue to upgrade my skills whenever I can. There is no room for complacency in internet marketing! And now there is always enough money to put food on the table, whether I work, surf or write articles. And usually a bit extra too, which we will definately need in a few months, for essentials like nappies and baby food
So no, I just can’t understand why people complain about the jobs that they hate, yet do nothing to change their skill sets, or enhance their opportunities to find different work or turn the things they love into a career, or bring their art into their working lives. All it takes is a little deliberate planning a decent amount of commitment, and a little bit of hard work to see it through. Ahh, thats it, work. I do see now. Its like how Thomas Edison said it.
“Most people miss opportunities because its dressed in overalls and looks like work”
Well, if you are not one of those people, and grasp opportunities when they can have a positive influence on your future, there are plenty of free business and investment strategies introduced at TheOnlyWay.com.au that you really should review. They certainly changed my life!
