There are three common methods of derusting. Method of removing rust according to the degree of rust.

The seamless steel pipe is a circular,How To Remove Rust From Seamless Steel Pipe Articles square, rectangular pipe with a hollow section and no seams around it. The seamless steel pipe is formed by perforating a steel ingot or a solid tube blank, and then hot rolled, cold rolled or cold drawn.

There are three common methods of derusting:
1. Cleaning. Solvents and emulsions are used to clean the surface of steel to remove oil, grease, dust, lubricants and similar organic matter. However, it cannot remove rust, scale, flux, etc. on the surface of steel, so it is only used as an auxiliary means in anti-corrosion production.

2. Tool rust removal. The surface of the steel is mainly polished by using a wire brush or the like to remove loosened or lifted scale, rust, welding slag, and the like. The descaling of manual tools can reach Sa2 level, and the rust removal of power tools can reach Sa3 level. If the surface of steel is attached with strong iron oxide scale, the rust removal effect of the tool is not ideal, and the anchor depth required for anti-corrosion construction is not reached.

3. Pickling. Chemical and electrolytic methods are used for pickling treatment. Pipeline anti-corrosion is only chemical pickling. Removal of scale, rust, and old coatings can sometimes be used as a re-treatment after sandblasting and rust removal. Although chemical cleaning can achieve a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness, its anchor pattern is shallow and it is easy to pollute the environment.

The degree of rust:
Floating rust: Generally, when the factory date is short, when it is not stored in the open air, there is only a small amount of thin rust on the surface of the pipe. The metal luster can be exposed by manual operation such as wire brush, sandpaper and cotton yarn.

Medium rust and heavy rust: When the date of manufacture is long and open storage or multiple transfer and long distance, the surface of the pipe will be oxidized and rusted, and its rust spots will be heavier. In severe cases, the scale will fall off.

Severely rusted pipes are not suitable for sub-water delivery systems. For medium-rust pipes and large batch sizes, mechanical derusting can be carried out by means of descaling machines or mechanical blasting, which can improve labor efficiency and reduce pollution to people and air. .

When the anti-corrosion quality is required to be high or the inner and outer walls of the pipe are rusted, the chemical rust removal method can be used to effectively remove the oxides on the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe.

Regardless of the method used to remove rust, the anti-corrosion layer should be treated immediately after rust removal to avoid oxidation and corrosion of the air again.
