Eligibility Criteria for IBPS RRB Candidates

For Office Assistant

For Officer Scale I

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent
  • Preference for degrees in specific fields such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, IT, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy
  • Proficiency in the local language and computer knowledge

For Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer)

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a preference for specific fields as mentioned for Officer Scale I
  • Two years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution

For Officer Scale II (Specialist Officers)

  • Information Technology Officer: Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Communication/Computer Science/IT with at least 50% marks and one year of experience
  • Chartered Accountant: Certified Associateship from ICAI with one year of experience
  • Law Officer: Law degree with a minimum of 50% marks and two years of experience as an advocate or law officer
  • Treasury Manager: Certified Associateship from ICAI or MBA in Finance with one year of experience
  • Marketing Officer: MBA in Marketing with one year of experience
  • Agriculture Officer: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture-related fields with 50% marks and two years of experience

For Officer Scale III

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% marks and five years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern

The IBPS RRB exam pattern differs from the IBPS PO and Clerk exams. There is no preliminary exam; candidates appear for a single Common Written Examination (CWE), followed by a Common Interview conducted by IBPS.

Exam Format

The exam is conducted online with objective-type questions. Negative marking applies, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. No penalty is applied for unanswered questions.
