Code 31: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot the drivers required for this device.

Code 33: Window cannot determine which resources are required for this device.

Reason: This problem occurs when your computer fails to allocate the resources required by the device.

Solution: Contact you hardware vendor to configure or replace the hardware.

Code 34: Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration.

Reason:  This problem is caused due to improper configuration of hardware settings.

Solution: For solution of this problem configure the hardware settings and then configure the devices in the Resources tab in the Device manager.

Code 35: Your computer’s system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update.

Reason: The Multiprocessor System (MPS) table, which stores the resource assignments for the BIOS does not have entry for that device and has to be updated.

Solution: Contact your computer vendor for getting new BIOS for your computer.

Code 36: This device is requesting a PCI interrupt but is configured for an ISA interrupt. Please use the computer’s system setup program to reconfigure the interrupt for this device.

Reason: Interrupt request (IRQ) translation failed.

Solution: For solution of this problem change the reserve specific IRQs of Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) or Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) devices in BIOS.

Code 37: Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this driver.

Reason: The DriverEntry routine failed when attempted by this driver.

Solution: If you are using 64-bit Windows version then ensures whether your device driver is compatible with 64 bit operating system. If in doubt then contact your device manufacturer. Try searching for “code 37” with your hardware type, name, or model number on the Microsoft support site like “code 37” graphics card.

Code 38: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory.

Reason: The driver cannot load into system because of not availability of resources.

Solution: Try searching for “code 37” with your hardware type, name, or model number on the Microsoft support site like “code 37” graphics card.

Code 40: Windows cannot access this hardware because its key information in the registry is missing or recorded incorrectly.

Reason: Registry entry for this driver contains invalid information.

Solution: Uninstall the driver and the reinstall it with proper procedure.

Code 41: Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware devices.

Reason: Windows is not able to find the device.

Solution: If the device was removed, uninstall the device and the click Scan for hardware to reinstall the driver. If the device driver was not updated then get the latest one.
