 The figure of Pope Sixtus, seemed to be on the left, was taken primarily for he was the patron saint of Julius’s clan, who came from the Della Rovere family. On the right of the Virgin was painted St. Barbara, which image inspects the scene with her down glance to the two angels with wings. The two angels were gazing intently at the heavenly proceedings above their heads. Maybe the most graceful feature of this painting, the putti is looked as the symbol for the funeral procession. Nevertheless, this should not distract the viewer by undervaluing the brilliance of artworks of Rapheal’s other features.
