When buying a slumber bag for a child,Sleeping Bags Checklist: More Options to Consider Articles there are many options to consider. We have covered some of these in a previous article, and here are some more things to consider while you make your purchase. Purchasing a child's slumber bag can be a lot of fun for both parents and kids especially if you allow your child to help in the selection process. There are many designs and colors to choose from since there is a wide variety of different sleeping bags made especially for kids on the market today. Do your research and remember to consider these additional features and benefits when choosing the perfect sleep-n-bag:

Storage – Most sleeping bags come with a carrying case which can be clear vinyl with drawstrings. Sewn in ties are also used after it has been rolled up for storage.  One fantastic feature is a carry sleeve with handles sewn into the bottom of the slumber bag. This nifty feature allows the sleep-n-bag to be rolled right into the carry sleeve. This is a functional convenience that makes storage for children a breeze because they can do it by themselves. It also makes clean up time in the morning less of a hassle. Plus your kids will think that the feature is really cool. It also ensure that when you store sleeping bags in a closet or trunk, they won’t come unraveled when you try to get them out. This way you can roll them up once and they will stay.

Care instructions - Most sleeping bags can be machine washed and dried which makes it very convenient when they get soiled. If you child has an accident or spills their popcorn or soda all over their sleep-n-bag, it makes clean up a breeze, and won’t ruin the night’s festivities! All you have to do is toss it in the washer. Others require dry cleaning which can be expensive. You most likely want to avoid these as the care can be expensive and it is a hassle to drop them off and pick them up every time they are dirty.

Indoor vs Outdoor – Before you purchase, you should think about if it will primarily be used indoor or outdoors. This is a very important option to consider as well because an indoor sleep-n-bag will not keep you warm for outdoor camping trips. Take into consideration the weather conditions and temperatures if you are looking for an outdoor slumber bag. Many manufacturers of the outdoor sleep-n-bag will have a temperature range that they are best suited for. These types are best for camping trips or hiking trips where the nights are spent outside. Again, please read the labels and product descriptions. Many young children who are just using them for spending the night at friends will not need these advanced options. They can also be quite costly because of their design and added insulation. While they are great for adventures in the wild, they are impractical and unsuitable for inside the home.

Overall, with so many choices available and with a little research your part you will surely find something to please both you and your child. There are so many great sleeping bags on the market just waiting to be discovered and purchased. Don’t delay anymore and buy your child a great slumber bag so they are always prepared should a friend or even grandma calls with an invite to come over.
