How Power Half Hour could open up an opportunity for consumers who might not be ready for P90X but still want a super total body workout

P90X was really more than just a workout program in a line of workout programs.

P90X gave the company built-in credibility. This is mostly due to one vital fact: P90X got big time results. 

There was no way around changing your body if you simply did what was prescribed.  Now 5 years later, the popularity is nothing less than a total revolution.

What is interesting is how Beachbody Power Half Hour will come to benefit. This is a workout that predated P90X.

In fact, many of the principles found in Power Half Hour are borrowed by trainer Tony Horton for the P90X program.

Due to the amazing success of P90X, the growth pattern of Beachbody Power Half Hour was altered in an extreme way.

First P90X became the workout with the big infomercial presence. So few people knew about Beachbody Power Half Hour.

Second P90X had so much in common with Power Half Hour that it tended to nudge it’s older cousin out of the way.

Both workouts are about muscle confusion, high effort for short term intensity, and strict schedules. Additionally, both have Tony Horton as the front man and training voice.

Now though, the differences between Power Half Hourand P90X are more easily recognizable. Many people who loved P90X also had their criticisms.

For instance, some felt the workouts were a little long. Also some didn’t like the 6 to 7 day per week commitment.

Power Half Hour cuts it down to 5 and will never make you work longer than 30 minutes start to finish. So Power Half Hour marks a real gain in those areas.

Additionally, there is the matter of P90X being so extreme and so high-impact that it could tend to scare off people who haven’t worked out much recently.

Power Half Hour is slightly lower impact. It also does a great job of giving the user the ability to tailor the moves and resistance to their present level of fitness.

People can do these moves and still get the similar type results to what drew users to P90X.  This opens up a whole new market of people that Beachbody.com can sell to.

The beginners market should be a prime demographic for sales.  Then you could even stepladder users to P90X.
