Anxiety in motherhood is common and the more you worry the more it troubles you. The panic attacks can leave the mother jittery with a high blood pressure. Slowly the appetite starts to fall and even pleasurable activities become irritating. The feelings and thoughts that scare the mind become paralysing and sometimes the mother has a tendency to lose rationality of thought. She may start to avoid meeting others and the anxiety strikes at all odd places. At home, the park, store and wherever the mother goes!

  • You need to comprehend why you are feeling so anxious? Are you worrying about what can go wrong with your babies, home or your health? Many times the mother shares her feelings and tells her children about her fears. The kids start getting stressed and develop concerns and fears of their own.   • Anxiety can actually spread from one to the other. Don’t let the kids pick it. Its your to deal with not your kid’s. Concentrate on your child and let him explore all areas of life whether scary or not. Venturing out into the open doesn’t mean an accident always. Let your kids become explorative and not practice avoidance.

You need to understand that anxiety is a normal part of life and it’s natural to a certain extent. Flee only if the danger is real or else stay put and face the apprehension and nervousness. Face the anxiety!
