It's a new year and many of us are trying to get in better shape through proper diet and exercise. Along those lines, we also look for health supplements to augment our efforts. However, a search for supplement companies on the internet will give you some 5 MILLION hits...a little daunting, to say the least! This article is to help you sort through all the marketing and advertising, and find a neutraceutical company that carries quality supplements, at a fair price.

Is there a "best" neutraceutical company?

To effectively answer that question,Eight Ways to Judge a Neutraceutical Company Articles you have to determine what is important to the consumer.  You also have to determine "best - at what?"...there's best price, best marketing, best place to work, best quality, best research, best manufacturing, etc.

In conducting a consumer phone survey to find out what is really important when it comes to supplements and the companies that sell them, it appears that opinions vary greatly - depending on what the level of product education the particular consumer has, as well as the budget they have for set aside for purchasing supplements. Those criteria alone eliminated a lot of companies.

Certainly there are many consumers who just purchase the heavily marketed or lowest priced vitamins. One need look no further then the sales for One-A-Day or Centrum Silver - they each do over $100 million dollars annually. So these companies certainly may have the best marketing, the lowest prices, and may also be a great place to work. But they fall short with the consumers we spoke to who put product effectiveness and value above the marketing hype.

There are powerful, well financed, multi-level companies that make millions of dollars because people tell their friends how great some product is. And, with the massive profits that their sales generate, all sort of literature and success stories are printed and posted about that "wonderful" product.

However, I would hope you realize that all multi-level companies must have a product mark-up of eight to ten times their actual cost. This means that a product you pay $30.00 for actually only costs about $3.00 to produce.  As an example, take a look at "Juice Plus." The manufacturer won't even break down how much of each ingredient is in the product. Do you really think that you are getting what you have been promised? That is highly unlikely. With so many people making a profit on our purchases, there is little left over to allow for you to get any true benefits from real quality or effectiveness.

The following is a list of things that were the most important to the educated consumers we interviewed over the past two months. They have done their homework on what they are willing to spend their money on, and these are the standards they judge products by:

1. Value: Consumers did not mind paying for a product that was fairly priced, based on what was in it and how it was made. That eliminates all the extremely cheap products with synthetic ingredients.

2. Effectiveness: It has to work. Consumers want to know that the product will work, based on real science not 30 pages of hype about a new "miracle" cure-all. Studies and facts...this eliminates about 80% of companies, and all the big flyers you see coming at you.

3. Guarantee: Not a 30-day promise, but a real, unlimited guarantee. You can count on one hand how many companies have an unlimited guarantee - most are for 30 or 60 days.

4. Organic Whole Foods: Customers who have done their homework know that synthetic vitamins are not absorbed and are missing the micronutrients needed to be effective. That eliminates all the bargain basement priced products.

5. Proper Manufacturing Process: Smart consumers know that chemical extraction methods and/or high heat destroy the ingredients' living entities, making them highly ineffective. Companies using these methods can still list all the ingredients on their products' labels, and they are cheaper to make. But... they don't work effectively. This alone will eliminate about 98% of the companies.

6. Quality Control: Only 2% of companies are actually GMP certified. Many companies say they manufacture that way, but they are not actually certified.

7. Corporate Goals: The goal of public companies is to make money. That is the overriding objective. Just look at the pharmaceutical industry. Do any of their products actually cure anything? NO! They may alleviate symptoms, but at what cost to your overall health? I eliminated all public companies because they have a conflict of interest in doing what is right for the consumer versus making profit for their shareholders.

8. Ingredient Disclosure: With so many disreputable companies around, consumers want to see an exact breakdown of what is in each product. Many companies list ingredients as "proprietary" as a way to hide just how much (or in most cases, how little) of each ingredient is actually in a given product.

To the above list, I have also added an interesting criteria of my own. I want a company that does little product marketing, or only has a very minimal (5%) marketing budget, because they put all the money into their products...a company with products so good that friends recommend them to each other, making the need for heavy marketing unnecessary...a company where doing the right thing for consumers, and helping people live healthier lives, are the principal corporate goals...a product line that doctors have enough confidence in to recommend, and use themselves...products that professional and Olympic athletes use because they work.

Based on the above, I believe our team has found the "Supplement Company of the Year," but they are not here in the U.S. They are in Canada, where each label has to have a Certificate of Analysis proving the ingredients are there, in the right ratios, and are approved by the government.

The name of that company is ENEREX. Doctors and professionals around the world are hearing about the product line and call to become dealers. In the United States, ENEREX has one on-line retailer that anyone can purchase from. Until there are an appropriate number of dealers in this country, you can find the complete ENEREX product line through the on-line retailer, Herbal Integrity.

I truly believe ENEREX is superior to 99.9% of the supplement companies around today. For the most part, it is not even a close competition to what is out there. I strongly encourage you to try the ENEREX products.
