There is a common saying that life is like watching a movie,Suicide is Not the Answer Indeed Articles if you’ve sat through more than half of it and every angle of the story is awful and boring, you can be forgiven for thinking that the ending would be very disappointing, too. Well, I guess nobody will wonder or ask why you’ll walk out and will not finish watching, but will probably just turn off the DVD player or the television.

Whatever the exact reason for your decision, it obviously means that in some way, you just did not like the show and you were not really entertained.
I was watching television today and I heard the news that the former Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines killed himself while he was visiting the grave of his parents. My main concern here is not with him or with the country. My point is the question why many people commit suicide. Are all suicidal people crazy?  And who is really responsible for this horrible and uncontrollable tragedy?

Suicide or taking one’s own life is one of the most common causes of death around the globe. The suicide rate is growing enormously, but still people cannot determine how to stop this problem.  Experts agree that suicidal people are usually in a condition of emotional pain and unbearable situations such as extreme stress, drug or alcohol abuse, poor health, financial worries, emotional upset and deep depression, or they are having a serious mental disorder.

Some researchers believe that most people commit suicide because of cowardice, lack of self- commitment and low self-esteem.  In addition, men have a higher rate of suicide than women. However, women attempt suicide more frequently than men do. Researchers found that men and women use different of methods killing themselves. Women are more likely to take poison while men often choose more violent forms of killing themselves, such as by using a weapon like a gun for example,  or killing themselves in a vehicle accident.

Suicidal people feel that they are horrendously isolated by problems, and this isolation often translates into depression.  People who suffer from this kind of problem are often weak and that they need guidance,  and real people to talk to. The majority of people who commit suicide have not been identified with mental disorders. Just like us, they are ordinary people that need attention and care, especially during times when they are lonely and down or lack hope and think that they do not have any options or choices to solve their problems.

Experts believe that one good way to avoid suicide is to encourage and facilitate communication. What we can do to help sometimes is just to talk to people we know that need someone to talk and listen to. If this person has suicidal tendencies, then this in itself would somehow already be a relief for them, and the fact that they realize that somebody really cares about them. This may allow the suicidal person feel the essence of their existence in the world.

Every one of us is responsible for all the actions and choices we make in life. However, suicide is not a good answer to any problem that we have in life. We are not permanently here on this planet, we don’t have to kill our own self, let life do it (in the end)! Life is too beautiful to abandon. Doing that would be a big mistake, and would truly make you a loser of your own biggest battle, if you let your worries conquer you in this way. Be a hero of your own story and just live your life to the fullest.
