These are various ways that one can do before,Top 10 Ways to Prevent Hangovers Articles during and after a drinking session to prevent an unbearable hangover the next morning.
  1. Eat a healthy, well-balanced meal: Always eat a healthy and well-balanced meal before drinking. A full stomach slows down the absorption of alcohol into the bloodstream.
  2. No greasy, fried and oily food: Greasy and oily foods take longer to digest. A combination of fat and alcohol tends to make one lethargic and drowsy.
  3. Time your drink every 40 minutes: Typically, the body can metabolize a 1 oz drink within an hour. While this may not be possible during a party, at least time your drinks every 30-40 minutes.
  4. Drink Highballs NOT shots: Avoid drinking shots that can be consumed quickly. Use mixers or drink cocktails which take longer to drink (unless you insist on drinking bottoms-up) so that it’s easy to time your drinks.
  5. Drink lots and lots of water: Alcohol tends to dehydrate the body, so drinking lots of water will not only prevent a rise in the blood alcohol concentration but also helps to increase frequency of urination that can excrete the alcohol content.
  6. Don’t mix drinks: Stick to one type of alcoholic beverage during a drinking session. If you start with beer keep drinking only beer. Do not consume hard liquor after beer or vice versa.
  7. Say NO to drugs: Do NOT, under any circumstances, consume any sort of drugs or medicines while drunk on alcohol. Not only will that aggravate your intoxication but could also be potentially fatal.
  8. Know your alcohol tolerance limit: One should always be aware of their alcohol tolerance limit and not indulge in binge drinking. In general, the limit is up to 4 or 5 one ounce drinks for men and 3 or 4 one ounce drinks for women. Anything more is alcohol abuse.
  9. Do physical activities: Don’t just sit in one place and keep drinking. Go out for a walk in the fresh air or go dancing in a club. Physical exertion can help to metabolize the alcohol in the bloodstream faster.
  10. Drink water before sleeping: After the party and before going to bed, don’t forget to rehydrate and detox yourself by drinking plenty of water.
