One of of the most common reasons why employees dislike wearing their name badge is they found their ID photo awkward. They feel shame displaying their name badge out of the fear that their co-workers might make fun of it or give unpleasant comments about it.

Furthermore, some companies would deduct the payment for the name badge on the employees' salary. Consequently, most of the workers would rather keep their badges on their bags, pockets or drawers to keep them secured. This defeats the purpose of the badge which is for identity while on the workplace. 
Apart from this, some employees find their name badge bulky that hassles them while working. These name badge wearers might have observed that their badge affects their productivity. They often lose concentration and their attention gets focused on their inconvenient name badge. The worst is their name badge had caused them injury from previous experience while at work.
After acknowledging the reasons why your employees don't wear their name badge, provide options that could resolve the issues. For an unwanted ID photo, the company should inform the employees regarding photo shoot schedule for their name badge. Through this, employees can prepare their personal appearances. For unsecured name badge or pin complains, the company should select a name badge holder that is convenient, well-secured and cloth-friendly name badge holders. A lanyard or ID sling would be recommended. Last but not the least, wearing the name badge should be required only on areas which are safe for the employees. Places that involves machines and other equipment that might caught the name badge should be exempted to the policy. However, the badge should be presented upon entry. 
Reasons might be valid or invalid regarding the dislike of employees to wear their name badge. The important thing is that the company should know the concerns of the workers. Being lenient on the policy regarding the wearing of name badge might risk the company's security. However, getting to strict about it could have cause injury to your employees or could have made them less productive.
