A decade ago, when it came to seeking information, the catch phrase was, “let your fingers do the walking” through the yellow pages. Today, you could safely say that it has been replaced with, “let your mouse do the clicking”. Fortunate or unfortunate, good or bad and like it or not, the fact is that more and more people every day turn to the Internet to seek the information they desire.

The latest technology,Web User Articles whether it be a fad or not is like the preverbal “pursuit of happiness”. Everybody wants to be a part of it.  Whatever the latest, greatest thing is, we just have to have it because we believe it will make our life just a little bit easier to live.  The Internet is no exception to this rule when it comes to convenience in an otherwise hectic world, and let’s be honest; if it makes life easier then we just want it.  To prove this point, the statistics couldn’t be any clearer than what is revealed in the chart below.

As you can see, the Internet, or more specifically the World Wide Web is anything but a fad and if you believed it to be so, then you have just received a good dose of reality.

So what does that mean to me, you may ask.  Well, nothing unless you possess information that you want or need someone else to know about.  Do you remember the saying, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression”?  That truth has never been more important than it is today, especially if you own a business, you are a professional, a church or an organization.  In most cases today, the first impression someone will receive from or about you is through your web site on the Internet.

When someone searches the Internet to find a product, service or information they need that you, your business or organization can supply, will they find you there?  Do you currently have a web site?  If not, what type of presence do you want to have or impression do you want to make on the Internet?  Like most things these days, there is no shortage of ways to get a web site but what kind of first impression will that web site make?

If you currently have a web site, are people finding it?  And when they do, does it make the type of impression that will invite them to stay awhile and feel confident about the information, product or service you are providing?
