Dooney Purses

Back in 1975, in the town of Norwalk, Connecticut, there were two men by the names of Peter Dooney and Frederic Bourke. If their last names do not sound familiar then you must not be that into purses. Dooney Purses are not just any kind of purse. They are made from genuine leather (some even from crocodile) which makes them sturdy, yet at the same time their designs and beautiful colors are attractive. Dooney Purses vary in price, but the average price seems to be sticking around $300 dollars. When the company first got its start the other competitors in the industry were using all natural colors for their products. However the Dooney Purses were unique. They were made with bright and vibrant splashes of color that no one else had seen, yet they were growing in their popularity with consumers because of that very distinct difference.

The signature look for the purses is a large B that over laps a large D's bottom right corner and that symbol is multiplied all over the product. The main five Dooney Purses in stock and in full swing are the leather, signature, grafica, fabric, and exclusives. I have already touched base on the leather and signature, but the grafica is a really cool Dooney Purse. The grafica Dooney Purses are basically a mixture of different (yet bright) colors in unique and crazy designs. I sometimes refer to the purse as the hippy chic bag to my own friends, merely because it definitely has the look of the 70's. As for the fabric purses, they are wonderful as well. Especially if you are a little hard up on cash, or simply do not want to spend a lot, the fabric is always a nice alternative to the more expensive leather made Dooney Purses. Also, many enjoy the exclusives. They tend to be the more contemporary and modern Dooney Purses.

The one's that go in and out of style as trends change from year to year. So if you see an exclusive and want to save up to make a purchase you better save fast, because when they go, they're gone until the next time that style is trendy again. Or I suppose you can always make a purchase through one of those auction type sites. However, I always tell friends and family, as well as any other innocent shopper; buyers beware. You can never be too trusting of someone when making a purchase, especially with top brands such as Dooney and Bourke. Due to the brands high standards and high demands, competitors in the field have mimicked Dooney and Bourkes designs for a far cheaper price (which many people do for other products). It goes back to the whole supply and demand theory. Just make sure when you make a purchase you know what you are buying, and that mistakenly you are not paying full price as you would for an authentic Dooney and Bourke product and getting a fake.
