If you are new to affiliate marketing,Creating the Perfect Banner Ads for Your Affiliate Campaign Articles it will be an asset to your campaign to research how to best use your website to market and promote the product you represent.  While there exist many techniques to catch your viewers’ eyes and ultimately make them reach for their wallet, few have been used positively and effectively as long as the banner advertisement has.  Banner advertising has been around from nearly the Internet’s inception, and has proven itself as a tried and true, effective way to promote a product, provided it is created, used, and placed optimally.

While many affiliate programs and affiliate merchants supply their own banner advertising to their member affiliates, perhaps you are going it alone, without a program and are looking to create your own unique banner advertisements.  All you need to begin is graphics creation software (there are many options available for free download across the Net), a little creativity, and some guidelines to follow.

It is a great idea to look at tons of banner advertisements before attempting creating your own.  Seeing what is out there, what attracts your attention - do all the examples that appeal to you have common characteristics?  If so, what are they, and how can you incorporate those characteristics into your own ads?  Undoubtedly, these advertisements are succinct and to the point, employing a larger font, perhaps bright colors, but always few words.  Less is more, definitely, as most viewers will not spend more than a few seconds looking at, let alone reading an advertisement.  Being clear and direct with your message is extremely necessary in order to motivate your viewers to perform your desired action, whether it be to click to a landing page for more information or to another site for purchasing.  The use of images can be tricky, as you might have seen from viewing others’ ads.  While no images can be boring, you definitely do not need to inundate each advertisement with a large amount of images.  It is always important to keep in mind that the more content (images, words, etc) that is included in each ad can translate into longer loading times.  Viewers need their attention to be grabbed, given the information about the product you represent quickly, and provided with the opportunity to purchase, so long download times cannot be an option.  By practicing your ad creating technique and researching other advertisements, you will be able to generate and post effective ads that will be welcome additions to your website and campaign.
