Many times when I talk to people who seem to be struggling with growing or developing their business,How to Sell Without Being Pushy or Salesy Articles they express concerns about their sales ability. I am often told that “selling is just hard for me” or “I just don’t like being pushy and asking for the sale”. While these are truly valid concerns, a large part of being a Heart- Centered Entrepreneur or running your own business, is selling. But there is great news too; there is a way to sell without being pushy or salesy!

Have you ever walked into a store and purchased something willingly, without a salesperson or any influence persuading you to do so? Of course you have! We all do this on a regular basis. Why? For me, it is usually because I need or want something. For example, if I check the refrigerator and see that I am running low on milk, I add it to my list and purchase it…it is as simple as that! So why can’t making sales for your business be that simple? Guess what? It can!

The key to removing the pressure of sales is to really inspire potential customers to feel like you are the answer to their prayers. Instead of forcing them to see the value that you could provide by using pushy sales techniques, you simply allow them to respond to the calling that you are already so confident about. Unfortunately, many people do not really understand how to have a “selling” conversation that isn’t pushy or that doesn’t feel salesy.

The first step in selling effectively and without pressure is to make a mindset shift from selling to serving. This will immediately take the pressure off of you and any potential client because you are coming from a place that seeks only to serve their needs. When you come from this place of serving, people will feel like you really get them, connect with their energy, trust you, and want what you have to offer. This mindset is all about activating the possibilities within others around you, instead of trying to overcome objections or barriers to the sale. When this is done correctly, your services will literally sell themselves!

The next question that is very common within this topic is what if a potential customer feels that they can’t afford my services? Again, most sales strategies teach how to overcome this obstacle through pressure or reasoning. However, when you approach this from a position of serving, you simply allow the customer to decide this. If they have truly seen the value in what you are offering and have made a deep connection with your energy, they will want to find a way to buy what you have because it is an answer to their prayers.

In making this mindset shift from selling to serving, it is also vitally important that you really tap into the heart of your ideal client and hear what they are saying. Make it a priority to listen; with your ears, as well as with your energy, to determine if, and how, you can truly serve them. Once this has been established through conversation, trust it to carry you through to the sale. No pushy sales techniques, just you…with a heart that seeks to serve!
