Investing for Income
Clients, investing for income, are seeking to generate money from their initial deposit that may then be later withdrawn for living expenses. Many clients make a living from their investments and therefore, need to generate a certain amount monthly to maintain their lifestyle.

The FTSE Income Deposit Plan, for instance, is designed to generate income for the investor. The plan is based upon a six year structured deposit plan where the client’s capital is protected. Clients may receive an annual income of 7.5% or more. The income may be available to the client as a cash ISA. Clients may use their earnings as supplemental income or as a full income, if the amount is sufficient annually.

Other plans may include stocks and share as a part of the income plan. With the Bonus Income Plan, the client’s capital is at risk, but there is a potential to receive higher earnings because of the variable stock growth. A monthly income of 0.5% is paid to the investor. A sample return is 6.25% over a five year structured plan.

The UK Fixed income plan also keeps the investor’s capital at risk. The five year structured plan may, for example, yield 0.44% of monthly income. Stocks and shares ISA are available in this particular type of plan.

Investing for Growth
Clients that invest for growth have more opportunity to yield a higher return through growth plans. For instance, a FTSE 100 Enhanced Kick Out Plan offered by Investec will allow clients the opportunity to earn as much as 10.75% annually. With this version, the client’s capital will be at risk. However, the client has the option of their initial deposit reaching maturity in years one, two, three or four.

The Morgan Stanley, FTSE Bonus Growth Plan, also offers 9.5% annual growth for investors. With this plan, the individual’s capital is at risk. Clients have a potential for early maturity if the client requests. Clients may receive stocks and shares ISA and transfers are allowed.

RBS UK offers the Growth Early Kick Out Plan that will pay investors 8% annually. This is based upon a five year structured plan where the client’s capital will be at risk. The growth fund will have the potential to mature as many as one to four years after the initial investment. This will depend upon how the client selects to structure the fund when the account is established. ISA transfers are allowed.
